Wingham is a small country town of approximately 4700 people, 12kms West of Taree and surrounded by Dairy and Beef Farming, State Forest and National Parks. Situated in the town itself is the Wingham Brush, a 10 hectare sub tropical floodplain rainforest, which is a special habitat for a certain species of Flying Fox, native birds and flying foxes. There is a public boat ramp at the river which is tidal and you can navigate all the way to the Pacific Ocean from Wingham. Other areas of note are Ellenborough Waterfall to the North West, which is the longest single drop waterfall in Australia and Barrington to the South West which is renowned for its trout fishing and kayaking. Then you have the Manning River town of Taree to the East and further East Old Bar Beach and many other beautiful North Coast Beaches. Wingham is 3.2 hours north of Sydney and 2 hours north of Newcastle and the Hunter Wineries. Our In house guests are a mixture of travelers, corporate reps, law and medical professionals and VFR (visiting friends and relatives). We draw a lot of business away from Taree as Taree has a reputation for run down and unsavoury accommodation. Most of our web presence is linked to Taree to draw attention to the fact that stylish and comfortable accommodation is only 10 mins further off the highway. This has been a very successful marketing approach.
